An object arrives on your desk with its dossier: date, materials, origin, and the provenance ledger. It is either authentic or forged. Inspect it with the loupe, rake the light across its surface, switch to UV, check the ledger against the materials reference. Then stamp your verdict.

If you stamp forgery, find the tell: the one detail that gives it away. An aluminum thread decades too early. A pigment before its invention. An owner who acquired it before it existed.
