Tune any headphone by ear
Voice-match the headphones you own to a measured house target, run a blind ear exam, and keep the sound you actually prefer. One purchase covers Mac and iPhone.
Attune lets you hear what your headphones would sound like tuned, before you change anything, and without buying a different pair.
Pick the headphones you own. Attune loads their measured frequency response, works out the difference between that and a target, and applies the correction to music playing right now. Toggle Stock and Matched to hear it. The two sides are loudness-matched, so you are judging tone rather than volume. The louder one always wins otherwise, and that is not a preference.
THE GRAPH IS THE SOUND
The curve on screen is computed from the same filters that are processing the audio. When the graph moves, the sound moves with it. Nothing is smoothed for looks.
THREE WAYS TO AIM
· Warren Labs is our house voice: neutral through the mids, warm down low, eased up top, the way a good room sounds. Adjust warmth, vibrancy and treble ease and the graph follows you.
· Another headphone lets you hear a different headphone's voice on the pair you already own. We take the difference between the two and correct for it, loudness-matched. A try-before-you-buy audition, not the real thing, and it says so.
· Your sound is your own result from the ear exam, over the house voice.
FIND YOUR SOUND: A BLIND EAR EXAM
Tap A and B, keep the one you prefer. The contrast starts wide and narrows as you go, so every choice stays easy to hear, and the pairs are blind so you are judging sound rather than labels.
"They sound the same to me" is a real answer: we leave that band alone rather than guess at a preference you do not have. It is a preference tuner, not a hearing test.
FINE TUNE
Voice-match gets your headphones to the target as measured on our rig. What is left is how your ears couple to your pair, which no rig can know. Sweep a probe, and when something sticks out, pull it down.
BRING YOUR OWN MEASUREMENT: FREE, ALWAYS
Import a raw measurement as CSV, AutoEq or squig format and Attune will voice-match to it. This is not a paid feature and will not become one.
YOUR OWN MUSIC
Attune ships with a demo track so the whole flow works the moment you open it. Point it at a music folder, or open a single file, to audition with your own: WAV, AIFF, FLAC, ALAC, AAC or MP3. Streaming services stay in their own apps. Attune tunes the music you own.
WHAT WE WILL NOT CLAIM
The neutral baseline is derived from a diffuse-field reference measured on a Head Acoustics HMS II.3, transferred to the miniDSP EARS Pro baseline and validated two independent ways to 0.33 dB.
Attune does not measure your ears, and it cannot. Above roughly 10 kHz the detail that matters is too narrow and too dependent on how the headphones sit to be fixed by any broad EQ. No software honestly can. What Attune fixes is the part that is wide enough to matter.
FREE
The whole audition flow, the ear exam, fine tune, measurement import, and one saved sound, kept permanently. Not a trial.
ATTUNE PRO: ONE PURCHASE, $39, NO SUBSCRIPTION
Unlimited saved sounds, and EQ export as a standard AutoEq file. Load that file onto a DSP dongle from a computer at warrenlabs.com/tune and it applies to everything you play, including streaming, because the dongle EQs the audio at the output.
Attune Pro is a Universal Purchase. Buy it on your Mac and it is already unlocked here, and the other way round.
Measurements are our own, taken on our own rig, and the app tells you the uncertainty rather than hiding it.
