MotTune separates the vocal from the backing track, then extracts the original singer's entire pitch curve. All you do is sing. Every slide, scoop and vibrato of the original phrasing stays intact - only your pitch gets corrected.

■ Decide after you record What gets recorded is your raw voice. Correction happens on playback, so you never have to sing it again: turn one knob to move from full robotic auto-tune to naturally in-tune. Export whatever you settle on.

■ Fix pitch with your eyes In the vocal editor, the extracted pitch appears as bars across a 12-colour note grid. Long-press and drag to transpose in semitones, cut notes apart with the scissors, or flatten them for a robotic effect. Every edit has multi-level undo.

■ Mixer and effects Level and pan for the backing track, the original vocal and your own voice, plus fine timing offset. The 10-band equaliser is provided separately for the backing track and for your voice. Doubler, delay, reverb, overdrive, distortion and bit crusher are all built in. Save any setup by name and recall it on another song instantly.

■ Perform live from your phone The Live list plays the backing track while correcting your microphone in real time, with no added latency. One phone and a pair of earphones is a complete rig for practice, streaming or the stage. The Play list runs your finished takes back to back, fully mixed.

■ Voice changer Works without a song. Shift formants to change the character of your voice, transpose in semitones, lock to a fixed note for a classic robotic sound, or switch on the vocoder. Recordings can be saved and shared as they are.

■ Export Bounce the full mix to M4A, WAV, or hi-res WAV (24-bit / 48 kHz). Save to the Files app or share directly. Pitch data can also be exported as MIDI.

■ About earphones (important) Wired earphones are required. Recording always uses the built-in microphone, even when your earphones have a mic of their own. Bluetooth earphones do work, but they add a large delay while recording that makes singing difficult. Audio interfaces are recognised automatically when connected.
