The best question usually shows up in the car on the way home. shottgun is a one button meeting copilot for your phone: tap to listen when the meeting starts, leave the phone on the table, and it follows the conversation with you.

While you talk, it listens for the things worth catching. A number nobody sourced. A deadline with no owner. A decision that slid past without anyone saying yes. When a question would genuinely move the conversation, shottgun raises it as a card. Ask it out loud, in your own words, and it hears you and marks it asked on its own. Questions never disappear on their own; they stack into a roller you can scroll back through for as long as the conversation runs.

It works on turns, not on a timer. The coach analyzes at natural hand offs, when someone finishes a substantive point and another person starts, so the cards land where a good question would actually fit.

Your phone can stay locked. Each new question arrives as a quiet notification on the lock screen, so a phone face down on the table is still a copilot.

When you end the session, the recap is ready in moments: what was discussed, what was decided, and a short list of questions worth asking next time. Afterward, it tells you what you missed. Save one for next time and shottgun resurfaces it in your next conversation when the moment fits.

Private by design:

• Conversations live only on the phone that recorded them. Our servers keep no copy of your audio or transcripts.
• No calendar access, no inbox access, nothing to link. The only thing shottgun ever takes is the microphone.
• No analytics, no advertising and no attribution code of any kind.
• Cloud transcription is the default; one tap in Settings switches to fully on device transcription, where audio never leaves your phone. On device mode downloads its speech models once, about 497 MB over Wi-Fi, on request, and needs an iPhone 14 or newer.
• Transcript text goes to an AI service to build the questions and the recap, in both modes.
• Delete your account any time from Settings; it takes your server records with it.

Plans: Every new account starts a 7 day trial with the full app and every feature: 120 minutes of listening, live question cards, lock screen questions, the recap and the library. Pro is 18 dollars a month or 179.99 a year, and gives you 800 minutes of listening a month. Max is 29 dollars a month or 290 a year, and gives you 1,333 minutes a month. A minute of listening costs a minute of your allowance whichever way it was transcribed, so choosing on device mode is a privacy decision and not a billing one.

shottgun works for client calls, one on ones, interviews, standups, retros and any conversation where the right question at the right moment changes what happens next.

Subscriptions: shottgun Pro and shottgun Max are auto renewing subscriptions, offered monthly or yearly. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless auto renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and the account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of that period. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings after purchase.
