Capture it with your camera, scan printed text using text recognition, paste it from the clipboard, or save it as an image. RETALLS helps you keep those fragments together and makes them easy to find when you need them.

Organize your clippings by type and source, add keywords, and search across your collection. When several clippings belong together, you can combine their text into a single entry.

Multi-column press articles—even wrinkled pages

Newspaper pages are among the most difficult documents to scan. They combine narrow columns, headlines, photographs, captions, sidebars and sometimes less-than-perfect paper.

RETALLS has developed a dedicated Multi-Column scanning profile designed to recognize individual physical columns and reconstruct their reading order. It can also cope with photographs of pages that are not perfectly flat. Before text recognition, RETALLS can apply an image-cleaning preprocessing step intended to improve the material sent to OCR.

This can be particularly useful with: • wrinkled or curved newspaper pages • uneven illumination • slightly soft photographs • low-contrast printing

Save a book cover, poster, menu, diagram or reminder without filling Photos with full-resolution files. Browse image Clips in a fast carousel or a in a grid. Paint over any image with Apple Pencil. Select a group of images for sharing to Social Media apps.

Museums are a natural use case for RETALLS. Instead of filling Photos with pictures of information panels that are difficult to find later, create a Source for the exhibition and capture the material directly into it merging photos with introductory wall panels, or artwork labels.

Not everything worth keeping comes from a document. You may notice an advertisement, poster, shop sign or public information panel while walking through the city. Instead of taking a photograph and hoping to remember why you took it months later, save it directly into RETALLS, together with any recognized text and a useful Source or keyword.
