Vocapa - Capture & Share Notes

Just launched: push to record, and your voice note becomes a titled, tagged Markdown note — processed entirely on your device. No account, no cloud.

Vocapa is my answer to a simple problem: thoughts arrive faster than I can type them, and voice memos pile up unheard.

So I built a voice inbox. Push to record, speak, done. Vocapa transcribes the recording on your device, then uses on-device Apple Intelligence to give the note a title, a summary, tags, and — if you mentioned things to do — a task list. What was a raw recording becomes a note you can actually use.

And because an inbox is not an archive, every note is meant to move on: share it to your task manager, your notes app, your messages — wherever it truly belongs — and archive it. Vocapa keeps the inbox empty, not full.

PRIVATE BY ARCHITECTURE

Everything runs on your iPhone or iPad. Transcription and enrichment happen on-device; the app makes no network connections of its own and works completely in Airplane Mode. No account, no sign-up, no analytics, no tracking. Your voice never leaves your hands.

If you want more, you can optionally bring your own API key for cloud transcription or enrichment. That is strictly opt-in, per provider, with your key stored in the system Keychain — and it stays off unless you turn it on.

YOUR NOTES ARE FILES, NOT HOSTAGES

Every note is a plain Markdown file with its audio recording alongside it, stored in a local vault on your device. The format is Obsidian-compatible: open your vault in any Markdown editor and everything is simply there. No export step, no proprietary database, no lock-in. If you delete Vocapa tomorrow, your notes are still yours.

Vocapa is free to download with every feature unlocked for 30 days. After that, a single lifetime purchase unlocks it forever — no subscription, no recurring charges, no free-tier tricks. If you decide not to buy, your existing notes remain readable and yours.

Vocapa is built and maintained by one person: me. If something doesn't work, my support email is in the app, and I read every message.

Requires iOS 26 or later. On-device intelligence requires a device that supports Apple Intelligence.
