Paintbox is a drawing app built around two things: really fun custom pens and tools that are easy to actually use.

You can make your own Pen and Paintbrush tips, change how they behave, save them, and build brushes that feel completely different from the usual basic digital drawing tools. Paintbox is meant to make experimenting with marks part of the fun.

The rest of the app stays simple. Layers, palettes, color tools, effects, size, opacity, smoothing, and all the everyday drawing stuff are there without turning the whole thing into a giant complicated workspace.

It’s easy to pick up, easy to mess around with, and there’s a lot of room to make your own weird little tools.
