Slop Score

Slop Score is an opinionated guide to the businesses around you.

Every spot gets a Slop Score: our editorial read on who owns it. Independent, family-run, and founder-led places that are rooted in the neighborhood score high. Private-equity roll-ups and extractive ownership score low — that's the "slop."

It's a fast way to answer one question before you spend your money: should we support this place?

What you can do: • Browse a map of local spots near you, color-coded by score • Search by name, area, or category - coffee shops, restaurants, and more • See our editorial write-up on why a place scores the way it does • Add your own verdict and read the community's takes • Get a weekly local pick worth backing near you

About the scores: Slop Score ratings are our editorial opinion, based on our published methodology and public information available at the time of review. They are not statements of fact about any business, and they can be revised as new information emerges. Every page has a one-tap way to request a correction.

Back the independents. Skip the slop.
