You are the stray. You work the case the only way a cat can. Follow a scent across wet ground, listen at doors, climb for the view the others never get, squeeze through gaps no one else fits. Question the colony and choose what to ask, because the right question earns the truth and the wrong one earns a flick of the tail. Then pin what you know to the case board and prove what really happened.

Every cat here is a character, and the colony is drawn from a real one: the barn cats, the nervous one at the back of the yard, the one who watches everything from the roof.
