PlacePoint is a simple walking compass for the places you want to return to.

Drop a point at your current location, search for a place you plan to visit, or choose an exact spot on the map. PlacePoint saves your locations and points you back to them with clear distance, bearing, and compass guidance.

It is useful for city walks, travel days, hikes, field work, festivals, campuses, parks, and anywhere you want to remember a place without relying on road directions.

Use PlacePoint to:

Save the pub, café, museum, hotel, parking spot, trailhead, meeting point, campsite, or viewpoint you want to return to.

Plan your day by searching for and saving places before you go.

Drop your current GPS location when you find somewhere interesting.

For field work, PlacePoint can also help mark off-road locations such as wildlife cameras, bat houses, survey points, monitoring stations, or equipment placed in forests, wetlands, parks, and other areas where normal road navigation is not enough.

PlacePoint is intentionally simple. It is not trying to replace full map navigation. Instead, it answers one practical question:
