Lingo translates the world around you: what people say, what's printed on a menu, what's on the screenshot a friend just sent. It runs on Apple's on-device intelligence, so your words stay on your iPhone.

Speak. Instantly understood. Talk naturally and Lingo translates in real time, so both sides of a conversation can follow along. No typing, no waiting, no passing the phone back and forth.

See. Understand. Point your camera at a menu, sign, or document and the translation appears laid over the original text, right where it belongs. Already have the picture? Tap the photo button, pick any shot or screenshot from your library, and Lingo reads and translates it in place — then copy the text, copy or save the translated image, or pick another. When text is best read as-is, switch to Live Text and select it yourself.

Hear. Remember. Record a conversation, a lecture, or a meeting. Lingo transcribes it automatically, translates the transcript into your language — live while you record or later on a saved recording — and pulls out the key points, so one tap jumps you to the moment something was said. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, each recording is titled for you, on device.

Share. Done. Send text or a screenshot to Lingo from any app with the share sheet and get the translation back without switching contexts.

Keep what matters. Save any translation as a Note and revisit it whenever you like.

Every language Apple supports English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, and more — every pair Apple's on-device Translation framework offers, growing with each iOS release. Lingo's own interface speaks English, Japanese, and Chinese, and switches live.

Your data. Always yours. Translation, transcription, and notes are processed entirely on your device. Your audio, text, and images are never uploaded to our servers. There is no account and no sign-in, and we don't embed analytics or advertising SDKs.

Translating a photo from your library needs no permission at all — the picker runs outside the app and hands Lingo only the picture you tap.

Optional Google Drive sync Turn on sync and your notes, transcripts, and recordings back up to a single "Lingo" folder in your own Google Drive, so they travel between your devices. Lingo uses the restricted drive.file permission and can only see the folder it created — never anything else in your Drive. Sync is off until you enable it, and you can disconnect at any time.
