Locate Guard: Location Share

Invite trusted people with a code, share location only after consent, stay informed with notifications, and stop sharing anytime.

Locate Guard is a consent-based location sharing app for families, friends, and people you trust. Share your location on your terms, receive place alerts, and review important location activity.

【 LOCATION SHARING 】

To share your location, enter the invite code of the trusted person who should be allowed to view it. After you confirm the connection and grant location permission, that person can view your shared location.

Location sharing is one-way. Entering someone’s invite code shares your location with that person, but does not give you access to their location. They must enter your invite code and choose to share if they want you to view their location.

You can pause sharing, change the sharing schedule, or remove a trusted person at any time.

【 SHARING SCHEDULES 】

Set a separate sharing schedule for every trusted person:

• Always allow location sharing • Choose specific days of the week • Set a shared start and end time • Pause sharing at any time

Outside the selected schedule, no new location updates are shared. The viewer can see the last shared location, its update time, and when sharing will resume.

【 ZONES AND PLACE ALERTS 】

Create Home, Work, School, or a custom Zone. Add a person who already shares their location with you and choose whether to receive an alert when they arrive or leave.

Zone alerts follow that person’s sharing schedule. If sharing is paused or unavailable, no new Zone alerts are generated.

【 ACTIVITY RECORDS 】

Review important location sharing events in one place:

• Location sharing started, updated, paused, or stopped • A trusted person viewed your location • A person arrived at or left a Zone • An SOS alert was received

Open a record to review its time, location, person, and current result.

【 SOS ALERTS 】

Send an SOS alert to trusted people together with your latest available location. Before sending, Locate Guard shows whether anyone is currently able to receive the alert.

Locate Guard does not contact police, medical responders, or other emergency services. In an emergency, contact your local emergency number directly.

【 PHONE NUMBER INFORMATION AND SMS INVITATIONS 】

Enter a complete phone number to check its possible country or region and carrier. Results are estimates based on phone number information and do not show the live GPS location of the number holder or their device.

Tap “Invite by SMS” to open the iOS Messages composer with the phone number and your invite code prefilled. The recipient can enter your code in Locate Guard if they choose to share their location with you.

You can review, edit, or cancel the message before sending it. The message is never sent automatically.

The entered phone number is used only for the current lookup and to prefill the SMS recipient. Locate Guard does not save it, link it to an account, or use it for advertising or profiling.

【 PRIVACY AND USER CONTROL 】

Locate Guard does not support secret or unauthorized location tracking. Location sharing begins only after the person sharing their location enters an invite code, confirms the connection, and grants permission.

Location permission, including background location when enabled, supports active location sharing and Zone alerts. Notifications are used for sharing updates, Zone events, and SOS alerts.

Users can manage permissions, change sharing schedules, pause sharing, or disconnect a trusted person at any time.
