WeSafe is a community safety app that lets you reach your loved ones — and nearby verified volunteers — the moment something goes wrong.

WeSafe is a privacy-first personal safety app that turns one tap into a coordinated emergency response. Hold the SOS button for 1.5 seconds and your live location, real-time audio, and optional camera feed reach your trusted emergency contacts and verified volunteers within a 5 km radius.

KEY FEATURES

• One-tap SOS — Press and hold for 1.5 seconds. Your live GPS, microphone, and optional camera start streaming to your circle and nearby verified volunteers.

• Live community response — Verified volunteers in your area see your alert in real time, view your location on the map, and can respond from within the app.

• Emergency contacts — Add up to 5 trusted people using Apple's system contact picker. We never read or upload your address book — only the people you explicitly select are stored.

• Cross-device sync — Sign in with Apple or Google. Your emergency contacts follow you to every device.

• Live tracking when locked — During an active SOS, your location continues to update for your contacts even when the screen is locked.

• Reports and check-ins — Mark safe spots, report incidents, and let your circle know you arrived safely.

• Global community map — See verified volunteers and reported safe spots around the world. Help others, get helped.

• Multiple languages — 32 fully localized languages including English, Turkish, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and Russian.

PRIVACY-FIRST BY DESIGN

• No address book access. WeSafe does not request the Contacts permission and does not declare NSContactsUsageDescription. The system contact picker is the only way to add an emergency contact.

• Encrypted by default. All data in transit and at rest is encrypted via Firebase. SOS media uploads go to your account in Cloudinary; live audio and video use end-to-end encrypted LiveKit transport.

• Pseudonymous identifiers only. Your Firebase user ID is the only ID linked to your activity. No advertising IDs, no tracking, no analytics.

• Zero permissions required. The app is fully functional even if you deny location, microphone, camera, contacts, and push notifications.

• No purchase needed. WeSafe is free and contains no in-app purchases or paid tipping.
