Features & Capabilities

Epilogue is the book tracking app for readers who want something personal, private, and actually useful.

No account. No ads. No algorithm. Just your books.

YOUR LIBRARY, YOUR RULES

Add books manually, scan a barcode, type an ISBN to auto-fill, or import from a Goodreads or StoryGraph export in one tap. Epilogue carries over ratings, shelves, reviews, and read dates.

Every book gets a cover, genre, rating, finish date, tags, source (Kindle, Kobo, Audible, library loan - anything), and a review if you want one.

FOUR WAYS TO SEE YOUR LIBRARY

  • Cards: clean, fast grid
  • Bookshelf: your books as spines on wooden shelves
  • eBook view: digital reads laid out as little tablets
  • Cassette deck: audiobooks rendered as physical cassettes with playback controls and listening logs

Same data, four moods. Switch any time.

A READING JOURNAL THAT ACTUALLY TRACKS READING

Most book apps tell you what you read. Epilogue tracks when and how you read it.

The built-in journal gives you a calendar view of every day of the year. Tap any date to log books, pages, audiobook minutes, and a personal note. Build streaks. See your patterns. Find out which months won, and which the sofa took.

TO-BE-READ LIST

Your TBR is its own dedicated space, separate from your library. Sort by title, author, date added, or shuffle randomly. Cannot decide what to read next? Hit "What is next?" and let Epilogue pick. When you start a book, move it to your library in one tap.

STATS WORTH READING

  • Books read per month and year
  • Pages read and hours listened over time
  • Reading streaks: current and longest
  • Most-read genres and authors
  • Average rating breakdown
  • DNF rate (we do not judge)

Filter by year, month, genre, or author.

GUIDED REVIEWS

Finish a book, get four short prompts: what you loved, what did not land, who you would recommend it to, a favourite quote. Plus free-form space for everything else. Skip them, fill them in, mix and match.

AUDIOBOOKS, PROPERLY

Audiobooks tracked alongside paper and ebooks: runtime, playback speed, minutes per session. Listen at 1.5x and the app converts wall-clock minutes into content minutes so stats reflect what you actually heard.

BUILT ON A FEW QUIET PRINCIPLES

  • PRIVATE: everything stored on your device by default. No account required.
  • OPTIONAL SYNC: turn on iCloud or Google Drive if you want devices in sync. Off by default.
  • OFFLINE FIRST: works without a connection. Your library is always there.
  • FOCUSED: no feed, no follower counts, no noise. Just your reading.
  • YOURS: export to Excel or CSV any time.

DESIGNED FOR IPHONE AND IPAD

Built natively for iOS. Your library, stats, and journal scale beautifully whichever device you have got in hand.

EVERYTHING ELSE

  • 12 colour themes
  • Barcode scanner
  • Automatic cover art from multiple sources
  • Backup and restore

Epilogue is for readers who treat books seriously and want an app that does the same. One paid app: no subscriptions, no upsells. Everything is included.

User Reviews

This app is great for tracking and challenging yourself. It finds most books through a barcode scanner or 2 searching the title and author, but if you for some reason cannot find the book, you can add manually. You can tag themes of the book, genre, era, or whatever tags you want to give your books to keep track in your statistics, and you can say whether you DNFd it or what star rating you would give it. You can leave books in the TBR, and even track whether the book was borrowed, bought, or checked out from the library. I love the challenge feature, which includes pre made challenges or you can make your own. I started one that I call “outdoors and active” that would be great for audio books. Overall it’s a pretty solid app for anyone to track their reading in whatever way they feel is best for them. Highly recommend!

This is the best book tracker I’ve ever used! It has everything a reader could desire, without the social aspect! The one time charge is minimal and worth it for sure.

I heard about this app in one of my FB book groups. I decided to download it and give it a try. It’s really unique and so far I like it a lot. It provides a lot of statistics that I haven’t seen from other book tracking apps. Developer seems very open to feedback and recommendations for features.
