Your recent scans and product history stay on your device. Barcode lookups only contact food databases to retrieve the product information you requested.

KEY FEATURES SMART MULTI-SOURCE SCANNING • Barcode Scanner: Quickly retrieve product information from the crowd-sourced Open Food Facts database, with automatic USDA FoodData Central fallback or supplementation when ingredients or key product details are missing. • Ingredient Label OCR: For products not in the database or when shopping without internet, capture a photo of the ingredient list. VerifyGF’s on-device scanner recognizes the text and runs gluten-risk screening locally. Since no label photo or recognized text is uploaded, it stays private and works even in “dead zones” at the back of the store.

RULES-BASED SCREENING VerifyGF does not use generative AI to guess whether a food is safe. It applies rules-based screening to ingredient text, wheat allergen statements, gluten-free labels and certification signals, and trace or cross-contact warnings using U.S.-focused labeling guidance.

BUILT-IN MANUAL DOUBLE-CHECKING Community databases can have gaps or outdated information. VerifyGF includes one-tap tools to help you double-check results: • Search the web for a product’s gluten-free status. • Search questionable ingredients in context. • Search for recent ingredient changes or manufacturer updates. • Open the product’s Open Food Facts page to review details or contribute corrections. • Refresh product data when you want to re-check the latest available database result.
