ViaPad helps families track supervised driving practice in a clear, private, and organized logbook for each learner driver.
Add drives manually, start GPS tracking on your iPhone, or begin a drive directly from CarPlay. The app helps you monitor distance driven, vehicles used, driving conditions practiced, and progress toward a mileage or time-based goal.
Key Features
• Separate logbooks for each learner driver, with family sharing support.
• Quick manual drive entry: date, start location, destination, distance, duration, and vehicle.
• GPS tracking started explicitly by the user, with real-time distance and duration updates.
• Live Activity support on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, allowing you to monitor or stop a drive without reopening the app.
• Simplified CarPlay interface to select a learner driver, choose a family vehicle, start GPS tracking, monitor distance, and end a drive.
• Review and adjust recorded mileage before saving a GPS-tracked drive.
• Optional automatic stop after GPS inactivity.
• Drive history grouped by month, with editing, deletion, and return-trip creation.
• Driving condition tags to track experience gained in different situations: night driving, rain, highways, city driving, rural roads, maneuvers, heavy traffic, and parking.
• Family vehicle management, including default vehicle selection and transmission type.
• Progress statistics: total distance driven, coverage of driving conditions, driving pace, milestones, and projected completion estimates when enough data is available.
• Private iCloud synchronization and optional sharing of a logbook with invited iCloud accounts.
• PDF and CSV exports for archiving or sharing summaries.
• JSON backup and restore for the entire family logbook.
Privacy was a core design principle from the start. ViaPad contains no advertising, no analytics SDKs, and no advertising tracking.
GPS is used only to estimate the distance and duration of a drive that the user chooses to start. The complete route is not stored in the logbook. Your data remains on your device and in iCloud if synchronization is enabled.
ViaPad is a personal driving practice logbook. The app is not an official government service, is not affiliated with any licensing authority, driving school, insurance company, or public administration, and does not replace any learner-driver logbook, legal documentation, driving school guidance, insurance requirements, or regulations applicable in your jurisdiction.
