curbwise is the simplest way to remember where you parked in San Francisco or Oakland. And to dodge the ticket waiting on your windshield.

Pan the map to where you parked, tap Save here, and curbwise sets a notification fifteen minutes before you'd get a ticket. It reads the sweeping schedule and posted time limit for that exact block from the city's open data. No accounts. No login. The core app is free.

WHAT YOU GET, FREE

• Pin-driven home — pan the map until the centre pin lands on your curb; the card below shows that block's schedule before you commit. • Find a spot — nearby curbs are painted red through green by how long you can park before the next sweep. Green means plenty, red means imminent. • Sweep warning — a notification fifteen minutes before sweeping starts on your block. • Time-limit warning — for posted hourly zones (typically 2 hours, M-F 8am-6pm), a heads-up before the limit's up, with a "Snooze 1 hour". • Residential permit — add your SF permit area and curbwise stops warning you about time limits it exempts you from, and shades the blocks it covers. • Apple Watch app + complication — the next-sweep countdown on your wrist, synced from iPhone. • Home Screen widget — countdown to the next sweep with a small map of your block. • iCloud sync — your history syncs across your devices via your private iCloud account. • Siri — "Hey Siri, I parked in curbwise" to save hands-free. • Walk-back — the distance and walking time back to your car.

CURBWISE PLUS (OPTIONAL)

Curbwise Plus — $1 per month or $10 per year — adds six extras and helps keep the city parking data up to date:

• Multi-car — track more than one vehicle, with a tab for each car and history filtered per car. • Share a car — you and a partner see the same parking spot, synced through iCloud. • Watch a block — tap "Watch this block" on a sweep-only curb and curbwise reminds you before its next cleaning, so you can park there right after for a clean week. • Custom sweep reminders — add earlier warnings, like a day before, instead of only fifteen minutes. • Sound a real alarm — your last reminder takes over the screen and rings through the ring/silent switch, like a Clock alarm (iOS 26). • Parking tickets — see the citations San Francisco has on record for your plate, plus optional alerts when a new one is published.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account at purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions.

HEADS UP — WHAT IT DOESN'T COVER

curbwise covers San Francisco and Oakland in v1, and handles street sweeping plus posted hourly time limits. It does not cover painted curbs (red, yellow, white, green, blue), metered parking hours, garages, private lots, or temporary signage. A residential permit only silences the time limits it exempts you from; curbwise does not police RPP zones themselves.

Always glance at the curb and read the sign — curbwise is a heads-up, not a guarantee. If a tow truck shows up, the sign wins.

WHY SF + OAKLAND

Because enforcement here is intense, the data is public, and between SF (38,000+ blockfaces) and Oakland there's a lot to track. Other cities are on the roadmap.

PRIVACY

Your parking history stays on your device and, if you're signed in, syncs through your private iCloud database — never our servers. No analytics, no ads, no third-party tracking. Location is used on-device to look up your block. A plate you enter goes to San Francisco's public citation database to find that car's tickets, and nowhere else.

BUILT ON OPEN DATA

Sweeping schedules come from data.sfgov.org and Oakland's open data portal, cached on your phone so lookups work offline. The data reflects the posted rule, not always the latest update.
