ABOUT BROWARD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT:

Broward County's Emergency Management Division is responsible for coordinating the county's preparation, response, recovery, and mitigation efforts for all types of emergencies and disasters. From hurricane season to public health emergencies, the division works around the clock to protect the 1.9 million residents of Broward County.

The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) serves as the central command and coordination hub during activations. When the EOC is activated, all relevant county departments, municipalities, and partner agencies work together to ensure a swift and effective response.

HURRICANE PREPAREDNESS:

Broward County is no stranger to the impacts of tropical weather. Each hurricane season, residents are urged to have a plan in place — including knowing their evacuation zone, securing their property, and having supplies ready for at least 72 hours. Broward Emergency Ready puts hurricane preparedness resources front and center so you can act quickly and confidently when a storm threatens.

VULNERABLE POPULATIONS:

Broward County's Special Needs Registry connects residents who may need extra assistance during an emergency with the support they need. If you or a family member has a medical condition, disability, or other special need that may require assistance during an evacuation, Broward Emergency Ready provides quick access to register and learn more.

DAMAGE ASSESSMENT:

After a disaster, Broward County conducts damage assessments to help coordinate recovery efforts and support state and federal aid requests. This app provides direct access to the county's damage assessment tools so residents and businesses can report damage quickly and efficiently.

BROWARD 311:

For non-emergency county services and information, Broward 311 is your connection to Broward County government. Access it directly from the app.

EVACUATION ZONES:

Knowing your evacuation zone before an emergency strikes is critical. Broward County uses a lettered zone system based on your proximity to the coast and your risk of storm surge flooding. Broward Emergency Ready connects you directly to the resources you need to identify your zone and understand what actions to take when an evacuation order is issued for your area.
