RE SOUND METER
How loud is your world?
RE Sound Meter turns your iPhone into a real-time decibel meter. See the noise around you, understand it, and compare it to everyday references — from a whisper to a concert.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
Check how quiet your bedroom really is at night. See if your office is louder than a typical conversation. Measure how noisy your vacuum cleaner is. Find out if a restaurant crosses into the "too loud to talk" zone. Compare the sound of city traffic to a quiet park. Know when you reach the 85 dB danger zone during a concert.
HOW IT WORKS
A beautiful analog gauge displays decibel levels in real time, with color-coded zones from green (quiet) to red (dangerous). A live waveform shows audio activity instantly, while a 30-second history graph charts the noise over time so you can spot loud events as they happen.
TEN REFERENCE LEVELS BUILT IN
Wonder what 60 dB actually sounds like? Or whether your environment is closer to a library or a busy street? The reference panel tells you:
- Breathing (10 dB)
- Whisper (20-30 dB)
- Library (30-40 dB)
- Quiet Home (40-50 dB)
- Conversation (50-60 dB)
- Traffic (65-75 dB)
- Vacuum Cleaner (75-85 dB)
- Danger Zone (85+ dB)
- Concert (95-110 dB)
- Pain Threshold (120+ dB)
