KUMA Companion turns your iPhone or iPad into a wireless control surface and confidence monitor for KUMA Timer — the broadcast countdown app for control rooms, conferences, comedy clubs, theatre and stage shows.

Connect over local Wi-Fi for zero-config use on the same network, or via the encrypted cloud relay for control from anywhere on the internet.

CONTROLLER MODE A full operator surface — same controls as the host's web admin, laid out for one-handed use:

• Start, Pause, Resume, Reset, Hide • Quick presets — long-press any preset to edit its value (HH:MM:SS picker) • Load Time and Time Glide — set a duration or hit a wall-clock target without touching the host • Cue list with prev / next / drag-reorder editor • Send Message overlay with saved templates and per-message options (duration, colour, position, scroll, flash, fullscreen) • Mirrors QLab, Mitti and Millumin's remaining-time readout (TCR) when the host is following one • ±1 minute, Count Up, Timer / Clock toggle • Live latency indicator so the operator always knows the link quality

MONITOR MODE Full-screen mirror of the host's display, perfect for an iPad on a lectern in front of a presenter:

• Renders the host's own custom Look — the same layout, fonts and colours, not a generic readout • Auto-fit digits — the timer text grows to fill the canvas • Landscape and portrait, all orientations • CLOCK mode shows live local wall-clock time • Overtime alarm — the whole screen breathes red when the timer crosses zero • Screen stays awake while Controller or Monitor is on screen — won't go to sleep mid-show

STAGES MODE (iPad) Run more than one room from a single iPad. Add each KUMA Timer host as a Stage, give it a colour and a name, and switch between them from one list — each keeps its own live connection, so nothing has to reconnect when you swipe back to it.

LIVE ACTIVITY • Lock Screen banner with the running countdown • Dynamic Island integration on iPhone 14 Pro and later • Keeps ticking even with the app suspended — glanceable status from across the room • Flips red the instant the countdown hits zero, synced to the host's own colour thresholds

CONNECTIVITY • Local Wi-Fi: zero configuration — your KUMA Timer broadcasts itself via Bonjour, the app discovers it automatically, you just tap to connect • Cloud Relay: enter your operator licence and your hosts load automatically, paste the 4-character pairing code from the host's Settings, or scan the on-screen QR with the built-in scanner • Optional shared password — gates both transports for shared venues, conferences, classrooms

REQUIREMENTS KUMA Companion works alongside the KUMA Timer host app, available for macOS, Windows and Raspberry Pi at https://kumatimer.app. Every host install includes a 30-day full-feature trial; after that, KUMA Companion remote control is part of the Full tier (£8 one-off, lifetime).
