Austria's Wohnraumschaffungsförderungsgesetz 2024 introduced a temporary waiver of the land-registry ownership fee and the mortgage-registration fee for primary residences. Applications must arrive at the land-registry court before 1 July 2026 (Vienna local time), the underlying purchase or mortgage contract must have closed after 31 March 2024, and the assessment base must stay below the 2 million EUR luxury threshold.
