WHY WE MADE IT

Fabily started with a boy who did not like reading. He was dyslexic, and books felt like they had been made for other people. Then a teacher wrote him a story where he was the hero, and reading stopped being something he was asked to do.

Traditional stories are wonderful and always will be. They are simply not about your child.

NO PHOTOS, EVER

Your child's Hero is built from choices the two of you make together, never from a photograph. Choosing the hair, the eyes, the skin and the rest is half the fun, and it is the moment a child takes ownership of the Story before a single word is written.

MY WORLD STORIES

Some Fabily Stories are pure adventure. Others take a real situation your child is about to face, a first day, a dentist, a new sibling, and let them walk through it first, as themselves, before the day arrives.

IT TAKES A FEW MINUTES

Building a Hero takes about a minute, and it is usually the part children ask to do again.

Then choose the kind of adventure, and a virtue at its heart if you would like the Story to carry one. Fifteen are available. Courage before a hard day. Kindness after one. A child can watch themselves being brave and recognise it as something they are capable of.

Every Story joins a library that travels with you, so the one your child loved in March is still there in September, ready on the drive to the shops.

WHAT IS IN A STORY

You choose the reading level, so the words meet your child exactly where they are. As their reading grows, the levels grow with them.

You choose the art style too, which is a good part of why a child will read four Stories in a row and find every one of them new.

Audio Stories are there for the evenings when your voice has run out, and for children who read best when they can follow along.

Each full Story ends with a note written for your child and a few gentle ways to keep talking once the last page is turned.
