Mars Launch and Rocket Calc
Plan your journey to Mars with orbit visuals, delta V calculators, crew planning, and life support tools. Learn rocket science and explore space in one powerful app.
MarsMissionPro is a powerful yet simple educational app that helps you explore how missions to Mars are planned. Designed for students, engineers, educators, and space enthusiasts, the app combines orbital visualization, rocket calculations, crew planning, and interactive learning tools in one clean and intuitive interface.
At the center of the experience is an interactive 2D orbital map showing the Sun, all eight major planets, selected dwarf planets, and sample exoplanets from the Gliese catalog. A transfer trajectory from Earth to Mars illustrates how spacecraft travel between planets and helps users understand interplanetary motion.
MarsMissionPro includes a rocket delta V calculator based on the Tsiolkovsky rocket equation. Enter exhaust velocity, initial mass, and final mass to estimate rocket performance and determine whether a mission has sufficient capability to reach Mars. Additional metrics include mission status, mission difficulty, mission readiness score, fuel efficiency rating, fuel burn percentage, and delta V gap.
Mission timing tools calculate launch windows, estimated Earth to Mars travel time, and Mars sol trip duration. Communication delay modules show realistic one way and round trip signal delays between Earth and Mars. Earth and Mars distance information highlights how planetary separation changes over time.
Crew planning tools estimate oxygen, water, and food requirements using crew size and mission duration. The app calculates total life support mass and provides a habitat area estimate to demonstrate how human missions require careful resource planning.
Educational calculators include Weight on Mars and Age on Mars, allowing users to see how gravity and time differ on another planet. Solar Energy on Mars shows how much sunlight is available compared with Earth.
The Mission Cost Estimator generates a simplified educational score based on mission complexity. Launch Risk Level and Mission Badge provide easy to understand summaries of mission preparedness.
The Mission Report feature compiles all calculations into a comprehensive summary that can be saved or copied for sharing and review. Rocket Presets allow users to load reusable rocket inspired parameters instantly, while Reset Values returns the app to default settings.
MarsMissionPro also includes a rich learning section featuring Mars Facts, Mars Environment, Mission Phase Guide, Planet Comparison, Mission Safety Checklist, Exoplanet Facts, Space Glossary, and Learn Mode. These modules explain important concepts such as orbit, delta V, launch windows, radiation, and life support.
