Streets aren't unsafe by accident. They're mistimed.
That pedestrian crossing you use every day — the one where the light changes before you're halfway across — no one has ever measured it. Until now.
WalkPhase automatically records your crossings as you walk. Phone in your pocket or on your wrist. It detects when you approach, stop at the kerb, step off, and reach the other side. Then it tells you the truth: did you have enough time?
PROVE IT. THEN FIX IT.
WalkPhase compares your real crossing data against international engineering standards — the same ones transport authorities use. It checks whether the walk phase is adequate for average pedestrians at 1.0 m/s, elderly pedestrians at 0.8 m/s, and mobility-impaired pedestrians at 0.6 m/s.
If the crossing fails, you'll know. More importantly, you'll have the evidence.
YOUR CROSSINGS, IN ONE FEED
Every signalised crossing you use, logged into an activity feed. Each entry shows walk phase, wait, crossing time, and a plain-language verdict: Comfortable, Tight, or More time needed. No taps, no timer to start.
LIVE CARD FOR THE JUNCTION AHEAD
As you approach a saved crossing, a Live Card surfaces the walk phase, your pace, and estimated crossing time — before you look at the light. It updates through At kerb → Crossing → Complete automatically. If the walk phase isn't enough time for your pace, WalkPhase warns you at the kerb so you can wait for a fresh signal.
FIVE-DIMENSION SAFETY SCORE
Every crossing gets a safety score built from five factors: crossing-time adequacy, wait time, traffic speed, infrastructure quality, and signal clearance. Not a guess. Your data.
ONE-TAP COUNCIL REPORTS
Generate a professional PDF safety report — with timing charts, clearance analysis, and recommended actions — and email it directly to your local authority. WalkPhase auto-detects the responsible road authority, whether that's Dublin City Council, Cork County Council, or a US state DOT. One tap.
SMART DETECTION THAT STAYS OUT OF YOUR WAY
Automatic kerb detection, accelerometer gait analysis for sub-second accuracy, and GPS + motion fusion tracking. Driving suppression detects CarPlay and Bluetooth so it won't misfire in your car. Learned kerb locations improve accuracy with every crossing.
LIVE ACTIVITIES ON YOUR LOCK SCREEN
See the live state of your crossing on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island — Approaching, At Kerb, Crossing, Complete — with a running wait counter. No need to unlock the app.
APPLE WATCH COMPANION
Crossing state on your wrist, in sync with the phone.
DISCOVER CROSSINGS NEAR YOU
The Discover tab uses OpenStreetMap data to show pedestrian crossings around you. In the US, FARS crash history is overlaid so you can see which crossings have injury records.
COMMUNITY TIMING
If another WalkPhase user has observed the timing at a junction, you'll get an estimate on your first visit — before you've contributed your own. Anonymous. Hashed contributor tokens only. No accounts.
YOUR DATA, YOUR CONTROL
Full crossing history saved locally, with GPS traces and accelerometer graphs. Weather recorded per crossing. CSV export for your own analysis. Your full route stays on your device — only the short kerb-to-kerb segment is shared anonymously to improve the community map. Delete your account and all local data with one tap.
NO ONE ELSE IS COLLECTING THIS DATA. YOU ARE NOW.
Transport authorities rely on manual counts and decade-old models. They don't know what it's actually like to cross at 8:47am on a wet Monday in January. You do. WalkPhase turns your daily commute into evidence that can change how your streets work.
