Behavior Rating is the data-collection app for the research platform behavior-rating.app. It is built for everyone who observes and documents behavior in scientific studies — teachers, therapists, educational practitioners and research staff.

It is based on Direct Behavior Rating (DBR): predefined target behaviors are rated repeatedly and close to the moment of observation. That produces dependable time-series data for single-case and intervention studies — no paper forms, no improvised spreadsheets.

RATE IN SECONDS The app shows exactly the tasks that are due today, and only the cases assigned to you. One item per screen, a slider for the rating, an optional short note. It fits in the break between two lessons.

MISSED DAYS COUNT TOO Person absent, situation never came up, behavior not observable? Log it with "no rating possible" and a reason. The day is not counted as forgotten and does not distort the analysis.

DOCUMENT INTERVENTIONS For active interventions you record implementation fidelity: which steps were carried out — as yes/no, in three steps, or on a quality scale from 0 to 5, with an optional comment.

BASELINE SURVEY AND CONSENT Complete the baseline survey right in the app at the start of a study. Data-processing consent is handled per study, stays available for review, and can be withdrawn at any time.

A DIRECT LINE TO THE STUDY TEAM Questions about a case are settled in the built-in messages area — no detour via private email.

REMINDERS THAT ARRIVE Push notifications remind you of upcoming and overdue ratings. On iOS they are delivered as time-sensitive and reach you in Focus modes; on Android the app uses its own high-visibility notification channel. You turn reminders on and off per device.

WORKS OFFLINE No signal in the classroom? Every entry is stored locally and synced automatically as soon as you are back online. Sync status is visible at all times.

SEVERAL STUDIES AT ONCE You can take part in multiple studies in parallel and switch between them seamlessly — including progress and phase (baseline or intervention) per case.

SIGNING IN AND LANGUAGE Sign in with email and password, by scanning the QR code from your invitation, with a web code, or via an invitation link. The app is fully available in German and English and can follow your system language.

PRIVACY All data is transmitted encrypted and processed in line with the GDPR. You only ever see the cases assigned to you and your own ratings. Credentials are stored securely in your device keychain.
