ShotPrep is a gear management app built for professional photographers who can't afford to leave a lens on the shelf or show up with a dead battery. It replaces the spreadsheet, the whiteboard checklist, and the mental inventory you've been running in your head before every shoot.

Add your gear once. Scan barcodes to auto-fill names and specs from a product database. Attach serial numbers, insurance values, condition notes, battery status, and photos. Organize everything into the exact bags and cases you actually own — Pelican cases, camera bags, backpacks — each with a scannable QR label you print right from the app.

Build loadout templates for the shoots you repeat: Location Headshots, Studio Corporate, Event Run-and-Gun. Before you leave, run a pack session — scan or tap each item as it goes into the bag. ShotPrep tells you what's missing before you hit the road. After packing, a departure checklist shows every bag that needs to go in the vehicle — tap each one as you load it so nothing gets left on the studio floor.

Mark batteries, SD cards, tape, and gels as consumables with a quantity and reorder threshold. A "Low Stock" badge shows up when it's time to restock. When you scan a barcode, ShotPrep auto-fills the name and attaches a product image from the database.

On location, scan bag labels to log check-in and check-out events as gear comes off the truck. Bring your assistant into the session — they join free via direct peer connection, no Wi-Fi required — so two people can work the checklist at the same time.

When you need documentation, export a full inventory as a PDF or CSV, pull per-item sheets with insurance totals, or print AirPrint-compatible labels in Brother QL or DYMO sizes.

Everything syncs across your devices via iCloud. Gear items are searchable from iOS Spotlight. Siri Shortcuts let you add items or start a pack session hands-free. A home screen and lock screen widget shows your current pack status at a glance.
