TRANSCRIPTION ON YOUR DEVICE Speech-to-text uses Apple's own speech frameworks. On iOS 26 the transcription runs entirely on your iPhone. Your recordings are never uploaded to us.

NOTES, NOT A WALL OF TEXT A raw transcript is close to unreadable: no punctuation you can trust, every "um" and "so basically" preserved, one endless paragraph. The Transcriptionist runs a formatting pass that cleans up the grammar, drops the filler, and splits the content into sections that follow how the lecture was actually taught. Your professor's wording and technical terms stay intact — nothing is invented or summarised away.

If that formatting pass is unavailable, the app falls back to formatting your notes on-device using pauses and sentence structure. You always get readable output, never an error and an empty screen.

YOUR LIBRARY, STORED LOCALLY Every finished lecture is saved on your iPhone and grouped by day, so this morning's class is one tap away. Open a lecture to read the full notes, rename it to something you will recognise in three weeks, or copy the text out to any other app. Nothing syncs to a server you cannot see, because there is no account to sign into.
