Saved contacts, notes, transcripts, recordings and photos stay in the app and are backed up to your OldMate account. Signing in on a new iPhone restores text first; recordings download when played, or ahead if you enable background fetching. Backup is always on while you are signed in, and it is separate from AI permission. It catches up when you open or leave the app or pull to refresh Home. Deleting your account deletes the copy OldMate is holding.

With your AI permission, your voice streams through OldMate's voice service to OpenAI for live transcription, and text and relationship context go to OpenAI for enrichment and guided reflection. Search by meaning sends your query and short summaries to TypeSafe. Photos are never sent to AI. See our Privacy Policy for retention and choices.

An OldMate account and an internet connection are required for online processing. You must be 18 or older to use the AI features. Check AI-generated details before relying on them.
