A CONCRETE NEXT STEP, NOT A DASHBOARD

Most logging apps hand you a pile of numbers and leave the thinking to you. SingleDose gives you one adjustment at a time, in the units your grinder actually uses, with the reasoning spelled out. Nothing sits behind a black box, so you end up understanding your grinder rather than depending on an app.

WHAT THE RECOMMENDATION LOOKS AT

Flow rate first — it is the fastest sign that something is off. Then how far your brew ratio and brew time drifted from the espresso targets. Then the age of your beans: SingleDose weights days since roast by roast level, because a dark roast degasses faster than a light one, and nudges your grind before your shots start running away from you.

SET UP IN ABOUT A MINUTE

The first launch walks you through it. Name your grinder and pick the shape of its dial — stepless, stepped, or your own range — add the machine you pull on, then your beans and their roast date. You finish with a starting grind setting and your targets already worked out, before you pull anything. Every step can be skipped and returned to later.

YOUR BEAN LIBRARY

Beans have a tab of their own. Give each one a photo, an origin, a roast level, a roast date and the day you opened the bag, plus tasting notes and a link to the roaster. Bags you have finished go to an archive instead of being deleted, so the list shows what you are actually drinking. SingleDose reads the roast date back into every recommendation.

BLUETOOTH SCALE SUPPORT

Pair a compatible Bluetooth scale and let it handle the tedious part. The app notices when flow starts, times the shot, and fills in yield and brew time on its own. A full-screen brew view shows weight, time and live ratio while you pull.

It all works without a scale too — type the four numbers in yourself and you get the same recommendation.

YOUR SAVED GRINDS

Every combination of grinder, machine, bean and brew method keeps its own saved grind setting, shown on a visual grind dial. Espresso and filter both have a place, though the recommendations are tuned for espresso. Come back to a bean next week and your setting is exactly where you left it. Settings you no longer need move to an Archived tab rather than disappearing.
