The app allows individuals to document and report police interactions such as unfair stops, unprofessional conduct, failure to activate body cameras, unlawful searches, or excessive force. Users may voluntarily provide their name and telephone number so trained accountability staff can follow up within 48 hours if support is requested.

CopStop does not provide legal advice. Instead, it connects community members with trusted local support to help them understand their options and, if they choose, receive assistance with filing formal complaints.
