Your joyful running journal
Built by a runner, to bring joy back into running. ZenRun is in early access — your feedback directly shapes what it becomes. Join us at zenrun.featurebase.app
Running apps turned running into a spreadsheet. ZenRuns is a running journal — log your run in 2 seconds, build your rhythm and find joy in running.
Runners who show up regularly — even with imperfect sessions — build lasting fitness. Chasing perfect data slows you down. ZenRun tracks what matters: did you show up?
HOW IT WORKS
- Log a run in 2 seconds. Pick your distance, enter your time, done. Use your Apple Watch or not. Run however you want, log it when you're back.
- Weekly rhythm rewards showing up. Run twice a week to keep your rhythm going. Not pace. Not distance. Just being there.
- 100 milestones to celebrate your journey. Your first 5K, your 100th run, a year of consistency, and beyond.
- Circles, not leaderboards. Share your journey with up to 10 close friends. Build accountability and have some joyful competition.
- Scenic run photos. Capture the joy of outdoor runs. Tag photos to distance markers. Build a visual album of your running journey over time.
WHAT ZENRUNS DOES NOT DO
- No GPS tracking. You could run without your phone.
- No live pace alerts buzzing your wrist. Find your joy in running.
- No leaderboards against strangers.
- No heart rate zones, cadence, VO2 max, or vertical oscillation.
WHO IT'S FOR
- You run 2–5 times a week and want to keep doing that for years.
- You value the running mindfulness as much as the physical fitness.
- You've used tracking apps but yet you have not figured out how to stay consistent.
- You care about running
- You believe the best run is the one you actually did.
BUILT BY A RUNNER, NOT A FITNESS COMPANY
I've started and stopped running more times than I can count. I hardly ran at all in 2025. Then, at the beginning of this year, I set a simple goal: run 1,000km. Just to see if the habit could finally stick.
I built ZenRun during the same period — alongside the runs, through the weeks of motivation and the weeks I nearly quit again. Every feature exists because it was important for me.
200km in, both the habit and the app are still going.
No subscriptions. No ads. Just a runner building the tool they wished existed.
Inspired by Born to Run, Murakami's What I Talk About When I Talk About Running, and the growing movement of runners leaving their GPS watches at home.
EARLY ACCESS — HELP BUILD ZENRUN
ZenRuns is being built in the open. You're not downloading a finished product — you're joining a small group of early runners whose feedback directly shapes what ZenRuns becomes. Vote on features, suggest ideas, and see what's coming next on our feedback board.
Share your thoughts at zenrun.featurebase.app or email support@zenrun.co. Every piece of feedback makes ZenRuns better for the next runner.
Your joyful running journal.
