Features & Capabilities

Listen to your whole Quiet Time, not just the passage. Memorize now brings verses back when you need them. And every journey stop shares as a card of the place itself.

Bible apps have become social platforms, full of feeds and features that distract you from simply reading the Bible. Cardinal is different. Just you, God and Scripture. No noise.

New to Reading the Bible on Your Own? Start here. Cardinal opens on the Berean Standard Bible, plain modern English, and offers one sitting of about fifteen minutes: a short passage, a moment to be still, a question, a prayer. You are never handed a chapter and left to it. Ask about any line and get an answer grounded in the verse in front of you. Nothing keeps score.

Quiet Time: Your Daily Time Set Apart One guided sitting a day. Pause, read, reflect, apply, pray, close. Each day is a curated pericope of fifteen to twenty-five verses, the natural "scene" the text is built around, not a whole chapter dumped on you. Turn on Listen and the whole sitting reads itself. After seven in the evening a shorter sitting appears to close the day. Your archive is searchable and private.

Seven curated paths, from the Story of Jesus in John to the whole Bible in a year, or describe your own and let AI build it. Tap Illuminate on any passage for historical context and Hebrew or Greek word studies (Cardinal Pro).

No streaks. No badges. No missed-day guilt. Just time set apart.

A Complete Bible The KJV, Berean Standard Bible, World English Bible and Majority Standard Bible are free. Always. Reading Scripture never requires a subscription. The NKJV, NASB, CSB and NLT are licensed from their publishers and included with Cardinal Pro, each with a free day to try.

Journeys: Walk Where It Happened Trace Paul's voyages, Abraham's road, the Exodus, Passion Week and more, flying place to place over real 3D satellite maps. Read each stop's story, hear it narrated, and share a stop as a card of the place itself. Seventeen journeys, free for everyone.

Listen as You Read Hear Scripture read aloud while the words light up in time with the narration, the page following on its own. Five narrators, a sleep timer, adjustable pace, AirPlay or your car, and it keeps playing on the lock screen.

Ask: Your Personal Bible Scholar Ever read a passage and think, "What does that actually mean?" Ask anything and get verse-grounded answers in seconds: cross-references, word studies, historical context. Your first three questions are free.

Notes: For Sermons You Hear and Sermons You Give Sermon notes structured the way sermons are preached: big idea, main points with their own verses, application, ways to serve. Group them by series, and tap a point for an AI "dig deeper" reflection (Cardinal Pro).

Studies is the workspace for preparing one (Cardinal Pro): gather verses, illustrations and quotes as you read, shape an outline, keep an archive. Verse notes stay on the passage, searchable in Bible order.

Prayer List At the end of each Quiet Time, add what you prayed for to a running list. Mark prayers answered when God shows up. Private, never shared.

Scripture Memorization Practice two ways: first-letter hints, or hidden words, which blanks more of the verse each pass until you can say it from the reference alone. Each card asks how it went, so verses you are still learning come back sooner, waiting under "Ready to come back" rather than as a streak you broke.

Highlights and Favorites Liquid Highlight: long-press and drag across any words. The highlight lands on the words you chose, not the whole verse, and overlapping ones merge. Save favorites and write in the margins.

Home Screen Widgets Pin a Verse of the Day, today's Quiet Time passage, or your Memorize progress, so the first thing you see in the morning is the Word.

Works Offline Memorize, study, highlight and take notes anywhere. (KJV, BSB and WEB are built in; other translations and audio stream on first open, and Ask needs a connection.)

Why Cardinal? Cardinal is for people who want to read Scripture, sit with it, and talk to God. That's it. Terms of Use: https://jedbridges.github.io/cardinal-legal/terms-of-use.html

Loving the cardinal Bible app. Love the built in quiet time and the stillness this app brings to reading Gods word on the phone. Isn’t super busy and gets you straight into the word! Been loving the guided quiet times and Bible plans already set up!

Personally, sometimes I just need something quick while I’m on the go. The practice verse challenge is the best, I just learned how to flip back and forth with the simple button layout when a hard one comes up! Also, there is a cool app tracking software built in and it shows you your progress/stats! Tactical responsive button haptics is epic! Makes a great fidget tool imo!!! I’m impressed and I am glad I have this app! 😎
