Write Kanji & Kana: JLPT N5-N1
NEW Learning Mode — practice every card with zero timer pressure. 800+ N5 vocab, hiragana forever free, no subscriptions.
Go from your first kana to writing kanji at JLPT N1, all inside a roguelike convenience store.
Two modes cover the whole language, one to read it and one to write it, and a game keeps you coming back to both.
READING: CONBINI RUN
Run a Japanese convenience store. Customers order in kana and kanji, and you read them to serve the right thing before time runs out. It is a roguelike, so every shift is a fresh run with its own twists, and the reading sticks because you are playing.
- Shift buffs: choose powerful modifiers every few shifts, stack them, and tip the game in your favor
- Konbini events: Golden Hour doubles your points, the Y2K Bug glitches your cards, Cram Session times your reading
- Gacha helpers: collect characters with unique abilities and synergies
- Shrine fortunes: draw omikuji for a blessing or a curse
- Boss battles: beat the Yakuza, the Pro Gamer, and the Influencer while they curse your cards with fog, mirror, and glitch
PREFER NO PRESSURE?
The new Learning Mode has no timer and no bosses, just pure practice with the same cards, at your own pace for as long as you like.
WRITING: WRITE KANJI (NEW MODE)
Learning to write is a mode of its own. Start with hiragana and katakana, then move into kanji, tracing each one by hand in correct stroke order, with guides that fade as you improve, all the way to N1. Recognizing a character is one skill. Forming it from memory is another, and this is where you build it.
MASTER BOTH KANA
Hiragana and katakana each get their own mode. Katakana is the script most learners trip on, so it gets the same focused practice as hiragana. Every character comes with its sound, a picture cue, and its counterpart in the other script, so both kana lock in together.
CARDS THAT GROW WITH YOU
Every card meets you where you are. New words show the picture, the kana, and the romaji. As you master them the hints fall away, until you are reading pure Japanese. The training wheels come off on their own.
A SMART REVIEW SYSTEM
Each word comes back right before you would forget it, and the ones you miss come around more often. Your progress is tracked for every character, so you always know what you have mastered.
ENDLESS DRILL, NO LIMIT
There is no daily cap on how many cards you can study. Drill as long as you want, with no daily wall. Get ahead all you like, and the review still brings each card back on the day it needs testing, so extra practice never breaks your schedule. In Write Kanji, free writing uses a daily energy that refills over time or with an ad. Buy any pack to make it unlimited.
EVERY WORD VOICED
Hear the Japanese pronunciation on every card, so your ear keeps pace with your eyes.
