Social media has turned into a content farm, an endless churn of reposts, AI generated brainrot, and algorithms trying to shove useless products down your throat. It’s all noise; TV static with the volume at 100. It’s hardly even social anymore, it’s just media at this point. Oldsta is different. Oldsta feels like actual SOCIAL media again. You scroll and see people, not sponsored posts nor partnerships nor ads. It doesn’t demand clicks or feed you cheap dopamine. It’s strange and comforting to open an app and feel a real space for real people instead of another conveyor belt of avenues to waste your time, money, and sanity. I downloaded Oldsta and was immediately filled with that late 2000s-early/mid 2010s optimism, a part of my youth that I had long since forgotten. What a treat it is for social media to return to silly vignettes of our lives. As it should be. 100 stars if I could.
