Contact Scotland BSL

Contact Scotland BSL is Scotland's National British Sign Language Video Relay service (VRS). Providing on-demand communication access for Deaf people via registered and qualified BSL Interpreters, 24/7/365.

The Contact Scotland BSL app enables British Sign Language users, resident in Scotland to call any phone number via a BSL Interpreter, with the exception of 999 calls, gambling organisations, chat lines, work calls or International calls. The caller will initiate a VRS call via the app, be connected to a BSL Interpreter, who then makes an onward audio call. The Interpreter will relay from British Sign Language into voice and from voice back into British Sign Language to enable Deaf BSL users to communicate in their first or preferred language of BSL.

The service is funded by the Scottish Government and delivered by Sign Solutions.
