T1D1 is intended for people with Type 1 Diabetes aged 2 years and older who use multiple daily injections (MDI) of rapid-acting insulin. The user can calculate insulin doses based on user-entered data, track glucose, insulin, and carb intake, and share information with their healthcare team. Designed to be simple and accessible, T1D1 makes it easier for patients and families to manage the daily math of diabetes.

About the creator: My name is Drew Mendelow. I was 13 years old when I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 2020. I remember feeling so overwhelmed when I was newly diagnosed and wanted to create an app with just the essentials you need from day 1 of diagnosis. My aim is to make it simple, reliable, and accessible to all… for free! Hope this app makes your life just a little easier.

Disclaimer: T1D1 is an FDA-cleared, Class II medical device for over-the-counter use. Before use, a healthcare professional must provide your target blood glucose values, insulin-to-carbohydrate ratios, and correction factor (aka insulin sensitivity factor) to be programmed into the app. While the app is designed to support insulin dosing for individuals with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM) from age 2 and older, for children under 13, a parent or legal guardian must create and manage the account on the child’s behalf.

I have recently switched to shots after about a decade of using a pump. It's been super helpful in the transition from a pump that does a lot of the math to shots. I love that the app tells you how long it’s been since you’ve given yourself some insulin. It would be great if you could set how long your insulin on board lasts and the app could at least help or suggest a calculation that accounts for IOB. But it’s easy enough to just calculate IOB on your own. In summary I love this app, it has been super helpful.
