User Reviews

CloudGear sharply improves iOS cloud gaming with GeForce Now, delivering high-resolution, HDR, and up to 120fps streams, plus robust keyboard/mouse and controller support that makes iPhone/iPad feel like a handheld console. Reviewers praise the responsive developer team and the one-time lifetime license. Common trade-offs are price, library compatibility gaps, and occasional stability or UI glitches (load times, input quirks, or stream distortions). Overall, a must-have for mobile cloud gaming despite some reliability caveats.
Pros
  • Significantly improves cloud gaming on iOS/iPadOS by delivering high-fidelity GeForce Now streams (up to 120fps, HDR, high resolution) and turning iPhone/iPad into a console-like handheld when paired with a controller.
  • Excellent developer responsiveness; quick issue fixes and active support via Discord.
  • Broad input and display options, including keyboard/mouse and gamepad/controller support, with easy setup for a seamless experience.
  • Lifetime license is valued by many users and considered a good long-term investment.
  • Great portability and flexibility (play on the go, in bed, or connected to a TV via streaming).
Cons
  • Non-free price and a perceived high upfront cost (lifetime sub) for many users.
  • Inconsistent library compatibility and occasional game-specific issues, with some titles not working or showing graphical problems.
  • Occasional stability and UI glitches (long load times, keyboard overlay issues, some keys not functioning, need to restart in some cases).
  • Occasional device-specific quirks (e.g., TV mirroring can require host iPad, mouse behavior quirks)
  • Some reports of streaming distortions or reliability problems across devices.
Recent reviews
The CloudGear is the best browser to use for cloud gaming and my opinion it’s worth the $40 lifetime subscription for what it offers but the other subscription plans are also good for those who don’t play games on mobile often. I mainly purchased the app for rumble effect using the Xbox controller on the iPad Pro but what really convinced me to purchase the app was the ability to display full screen on the TV using the iPhone or iPad. Also with the app I now can have rumble effect through the iPhone haptic when using the Razer Kishi Pro which works better than I expected.
