Features & Capabilities

One app. Every tool. Sheet Scan lets you scan music, hear pro recordings, follow a metronome, tune with tips, and master your scales.

Hi, I’m Asher Zaczepinski, and I built Sheet Scan to make practicing music faster, easier, and way less frustrating.

When I started learning clarinet, I was always looking for tools that actually helped me improve. Most apps were either too basic or too bloated—so I decided to build something better.

Sheet Scan is an all-in-one app that helps student musicians scan their music and practice smarter.

• Music Scanner + Recordings Take a photo of your sheet music and instantly get matched with full professional recordings from YouTube—filtered by your instrument and the exact piece you're playing.

• Visual Metronome with Subdivisions Follow every beat and subdivision clearly with a visual metronome that helps you stay locked in.

• Tuner with Instrument-Specific Tips Get real-time pitch detection, plus tuning advice tailored to your instrument—so you're not just told you're out of tune, you're told what to do about it.

• Scales with Fingerings Access clean, accurate scales for your instrument, with sharps, flats, and fingerings already filled in—no more guesswork.

Whether you’re prepping for band class, auditions, or just practicing on your own, Sheet Scan gives you the tools to actually improve—quickly, clearly, and in one place.

Imagine this: You’re leafing through a dusty stack of old scores, pages yellowed with age and time. And then, with the tap of your phone camera, that inked chaos is transformed — not just into pristine digital sheet music, but into a living, breathing, editable, playable score. That’s the magic of Sheet Scan. This isn’t just an app. It’s an oracle for musicians. With astonishing accuracy, it scans physical sheet music — even from warped, dog-eared, coffee-stained pages — and instantly transmutes it into beautifully rendered digital notation. Not just flat PDFs either. We're talking full-blown, transposable, MIDI-playable, tempo-adjustable digital scores. Need it in a different key? Tap. Want to hear how that tricky Bartók passage sounds at half speed? Tap. Curious if your interpretation matches the phrasing? Tap, tap, tap — and it sings back to you. The optical recognition is uncannily sharp. Handwritten scores? No problem. Twentieth-century engraving with nonstandard spacing? Eats it for breakfast. It’s like the app is not just reading the music, but understanding it. Harmonically aware. Rhythmically intuitive. Borderline clairvoyant. And the UI? Silk. Every interaction feels like it was polished by a team of luthiers and Zen monks. The export options are generous — MusicXML, MIDI, PDF, you name it. Seamless integration with notation software and DAWs makes this a true Swiss Army knife for composers, performers, and educators alike. Frankly, I don’t know how I worked without it. It’s not just a productivity tool; it’s a liberation. It rescues forgotten scores from oblivion. It puts interpretive power back in the hands of the player. It bridges centuries of musical tradition with the flick of a lens. For anyone who lives in the staff lines — students, pros, orchestrators, even casual pianists — this is not optional. It’s a revelation. If Bach had this, he would’ve written in holograms.

this app is so freaking good. i have tried hundreds and hundreds of different app metronomes and tuners and all of then have either been subpar apps, been overloaded with ads, or been hidden against a paywall. none of this is convenient for tuning prior a concert or rehearsal when i forgot my actual tuner. i was recommended sheetscan by a friend and it has been a game changer!!! not only does it have a user friendly metronome and tuning feature, there’s other features that make it so easy to use for musicians of all ages! i particularly love being able to scan my music and find all the different recordings of my repertoire, this makes it super easy to find different interpretations without the hassle of sorting thousands myself. i can find the exact soloist right off the bat! im so excited for new updates to come 😊😊
