We are two gym-goers who were fed up of the expensive and bloated offerings, and couldn't bring ourselves to move away from taking notes. We wanted a premium workout tracker, without the price-tag and without the unnecessary account creation and data collection. We also hated having to type out the weights and reps of every set, if we changed up the configuration.

So we made Gym Jotter.

Gym Jotter ended up being built around one simple idea: logging sets should be fast enough that it never feels like a chore.

At the heart of the app is Jot Down Set. Tap once to log a set at your target weight and reps, or hold and drag to adjust before saving. Drag right to increase weight, left to decrease it, and up or down to change reps. One gesture. No keyboard. No messing around between sets.

Start a session, jot sets in seconds, then come back later to review your training with clear history, useful stats, and exercise analytics.

For weight-based exercises, Gym Jotter tracks the numbers that matter:

  • Max weight
  • Estimated 1RM
  • Difficulty mix
  • Training frequency
  • Target and volume trends
  • Recent performance
  • Date filters for training blocks or longer-term progress
  • Auto-calculated difficulty ratings for every set: Easy, Medium, Hard, or Failure
