The Constellations Game

The app design looks fantastic. There’s clearly been a huge amount of thought and detail put into developing it. I’ve been looking for a fun, engaging way to learn the constellations, and I say that as a 32-year-old guy who genuinely wants to learn them. That said, I think the current structure makes learning the stars much harder than it needs to be. Having most of the constellations “locked” feels especially limiting. If the goal is to help people learn, I’d love to be able to explore any constellation whenever I’m interested in it. The pair-matching puzzle games also feel a little clunky and, to me, distract from what is already the strongest part of the app: the interactive constellation experience itself. It feels like a lot of the development was focused on creating a game that users progress through from beginning to end, with points, unlocks, and barriers. I think there’s a much bigger opportunity here to make it a general learning tool that happens to feel like a game. My biggest suggestion would be to make the constellations freely explorable, reduce the emphasis on points and unlocking content, and let users learn at their own pace using the engaging core experience you’ve already built. You’re on the right track with making astronomy fun and interactive. I just think opening it up and making exploration the focus would make it much more useful and appealing to people of all ages.
