Features & Capabilities

Dynamix Universe is the sequel to the music game Dynamix, expanding its classic rhythm gameplay with a rich story adventure.

As a member of the Space Development Team, you’ll journey to unknown planets, dive into data ruins, and search for lost Rhythm Fragments. Awaken melodies long fallen silent, and unearth the truth behind music’s disappearance.

Gameplay continues the original’s signature three-sided falling-note design. Tap notes across left, center, and right zones—each tied to a different instrument. Dynamix Universe also adds brand-new note types for a more immersive, challenging rhythm experience.

User Reviews

The original Dynamix was my favorite rhythm game for a very long time, and I was devastated when it became unplayable due to Apple’s swipe gestures replacing the home button on newer phones. I happened to encounter this and was very excited to give it a go! The game has a very stylized, sort of cutesy sci-fi art style, which I enjoy, though navigating the world is a bit disorienting sometimes. I had a hard time figuring out how to get back to the main gameplay music menu. The music is reminiscent of the original Dynamix in style, but I haven’t found anything that particularly stands out to me in a way that would make me want to replay it yet. The way you unlock songs is a lot more tedious, rather than earning XP and leveling up, you have to move your character through a maze of sorts, using a drill to break through crates and collect “rhythm fragments”. These fragments only give you one difficulty for a song at a time, so I often was disappointed to discover that my “new song” was just the easy difficulty of a song I’d already completed on medium or hard. The game would benefit a lot if it would allow you to raise the lower judgement bar up further. It is an improvement from where the old Dynamix was left sitting, but I still occasionally catch the home bar, swiping out of the game. This pauses the song and usually makes me lose my combo. On the pause menu, I have on multiple occasions hit the “next” button because it looks like a play/continue button, only to be taken back to the song selection menu, losing my progress. It took me a bit to notice the tiny play button at the top of the screen. I think adding some sort of confirmation menu would be good, like “return to song select? yes/no”. I won’t lie, I miss the simplicity of the first Dynamix game. However, this is a welcome sequel, and it seems to be in a very early stage of development. Please don’t take my criticisms too harshly! I just wanted to write this review out of my genuine love for the original game and hopefully it can help guide the development team on some smaller quality of life stuff. :)

I love the original Dynamix so much and I am so excited for this game to bring new features! Amazing charts so far just like the OG but even more exciting to play 🤩
