We used to hunt morels in Ohio, but didn’t know much about finding them in California. Found this app and been using it for a 3 years now. It saved us so much time and we found loads of morels in California !!! Trent and Kristen are always so helpful and responsive!! Such a cool community they’re building! If you’re into morels hunting or wanting to get into it, this is THE place !! Highly recommend !!

I started using Geoforager last fall and have been amazed by its capabilities. While I think they originally designed it for burn morel hunting, and it has an incredible wealth of relevant dataifor that, including their own morel-probability maps, it has a wealth of data for hunting all kinds of mushrooms: dominant tree types, precipitation, soil temperatures, roads, trails and just about anything else you can imagine would be useful in identifying good locations for mushroom foraging. They are constantly adding new features, often based on user requests. I have found the new property ownership data especially useful, allowing me to find public land for foraging and also contact owners of private land to get permission or purchase permits to forage in areas with less harvest pressure. I can’t begin to express how grateful I am for this amazing tool!

This is my second year using this app and the number of new map layers added just this year is astounding. You can save maps with all their layers for off-line use. Most importantly, the developers are extremely passionate and devoted to the art of mushroom foraging, as well as mashing up all the available data across the web into this one app. You have the ability to customize all the layers to help you find the flushes. (snow pack, precipitation over past time periods, burn areas for morels, trails, roads, tree species just to name a few)
