MedSync

Our app, ClinicOS, integrates with Apple HealthKit using the Junction SDK (https://docs.junction.com/wearables/guides/apple-healthkit)). The SDK handles data retrieval from HealthKit as follows:

• In foreground: data is delivered immediately by HealthKit.
• In background: hourly sync is scheduled, but actual delivery is subject to iOS system conditions (battery, CPU, connectivity, etc.).
• Uploaded data is first sent to Junction’s secure infrastructure, then synced once daily to our own backend.

The app enables remote patient monitoring. Users (patients) receive login credentials from their doctor and can voluntarily choose to sync HealthKit data. This gives the doctor access to selected health metrics such as heart rate, activity, or sleep.

Users can revoke access anytime in iOS Health settings.

The synced HealthKit data is only used for medical purposes and is displayed on a clinician dashboard inside the ClinicOS system. It is not used for advertising or analytics, nor shared with unrelated third parties.

Data is first stored temporarily on Junction servers (https://www.tryvital.com/privacy)), then transferred to our backend (GDPR-compliant, hosted in the EU). Junction deletes the synced data monthly. Only the treating physician and limited authorized technical staff have access, under strict role-based permissions.

We are the developers of ClinicOS (https://www.clinicos.de) and operate both the mobile app and backend infrastructure.
