Minnesota 511 is the Minnesota Department of Transportation's traveler information resource. The 511MN app provides statewide, real-time traffic information for Minnesota highways and interstates, including hands-free, audio notifications of traffic events, a zoom-enabled map with selectable event icons, near real-time updates on winter road conditions, traffic incidents, road closures, roadwork, travel time delays, current traffic speeds, roadside camera images and live video capabilities, road weather information, snow plow camera images, electric vehicle charging locations, and rest area locations with real-time truck parking availability for select state-run rest areas.

Learn about Minnesota's wireless-device law in vehicles and MnDOT's privacy policy. Note that continued GPS use in the background can decrease battery life. This extension helps you stay informed and drive more safely on Minnesota roads.

Today is my first day in the app, and so far I don’t like it! There are no clear directions or instructions!

Those with the negative reviews don’t know how to use the app. Go to the “Layers” in the bottom right corner and turn on Snowplows and Weather Stations and you can see the actual road conditions in real time. Sweet!
