Lumia: Manage Your Dizziness

Start Tracking What Matters

Features & Capabilities

Exclusively for Lumia™ members with a Lumia in-ear wearable device.

The Lumia™ Program helps you understand your dizziness and related symptoms by correlating your symptom tracking with changes in your Flow and Heart Rate. If you are living with a chronic illness associated with increased symptoms during upright postures, you need to learn about Lumia™!

This includes conditions involving dizziness like:

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) Orthostatic Hypotension (OH) Vasovagal Syncope (VVS) or Neurocardiogenic Syncope (NCS) Orthostatic Intolerance (OI) and more!

If you have dizziness, we’re here to help you understand what makes you feel better, and what makes you feel worse.

Tracking your symptoms and lifestyle factors can help you better understand the benefits of healthy lifestyle choices. This can encourage you to stay on top of lifestyle recommendations your doctor has given you. This may include proper hydration, managing your sodium intake, getting optimal rest, and balancing healthy activities with periods of rest.

Take control of your symptoms by tracking your Flow and learning from your patterns over time.

Please note:

Data displayed in the app are for wellness information purposes only, and should not be used to make any medical, diagnostic, or treatment decisions. Lumia’s Flow Index is a proprietary relative index that is only useful for understanding deviations from your baseline for self-management use. Indices in the app intentionally cannot be back-calculated to medical diagnostic standards. Please consult with a qualified physician familiar with your unique circumstances before making any changes to your doctor’s treatment plan, and before making any other medical or treatment decisions.

Lumia is here to support a healthy lifestyle to help you live better with your conditions.

TAKE A TOUR OF THE LUMIA™ APP

Let’s start with the Home Page. We’re excited to see you, welcome Home! Here we’ll display info like Flow Index, which indicates the blood flow trends to your head. Flow Index is not an absolute measurement, but instead is a general indicator showing how your body changes from day to day, or throughout the course of a day, in response to different lifestyle factors. Flow Index is unique to you, and cannot be compared with another individual.

Next, rate today’s Symptoms in the Daily Journal. While you may have many symptoms, we recommend you choose the most important ones to track day-to-day changes in. Track what feels linked to your body’s response to upright postures.

This Symptom journaling feature is all yours to control.

Some of the top symptoms our Lumia Members track are the ones closely associated with changes in blood flow to the head such as lightheadedness, dizziness, syncope, fainting, memory problems, headaches, chronic fatigue, nausea, tunnel vision, tremors, and more.

The Moments page is where your daily graphs live. We’ve created a pinchable, zoomable interface so you can look more closely at any significant changes in your Flow.

Lastly, your Profile is where you can manage things that don’t often change: Name and personal details Journal of health conditions and significant events

This is your Moment: it’s time to start managing your wellbeing with Lumia!

UPDATE: a year+ in and still unable to tag typical POTS/ chronic illness body positions, common POTS/OI symptoms, flow impacting events, or create custom tags. Tag requests have so far been ignored while “nice to have” features have been implemented, and helpful graph data has been removed, leaving us guessing how our flow averages change with body position. Why remove such a critical piece of information? We continue to look forward to the core features being implemented (tagging to spot trends). Hoping beyond hope that this company can remain successful in the competitive wearables market. Previous: 5 stars for this groundbreaking step in the right direction. But incredibly early stage development, impacting functionality (basic body position tags and tags needed to test functionality are not available yet 6 months post launch, tags block data, removing all tags leaves you relying on memory as to the timeframes when looking at flow lines, battery dies unexpectedly, bugs on pre-release are not resolved before rolling out to the rest of users, etc). Big changes with each update, so it’s a very exciting time, but definitely too early for those needing a plug and play situation.

I’ve been wearing one of the production-line Lumia devices for a few days now, and it’s already life-changing. I have hEDS, vague dysautonomia and cranio-cervical instability. I’ve told people before that “I think I don’t have enough blood in my brain today,” but never had anything more explicit than that. Now I do, and that knowledge means that when blood flow gets low - I can DO something about it!! Drink electrolytes; put on compression; do some PT; wear a back brace; lay on the floor a while - it all helps. And now I can see it helping in real time. This deserves 5 stars because it is truly life-changing technology. I feel like I have a plan for managing my health for the first time. But fair warning to people that it’s still early, experimental and fiddly. Bugs I’ve dealt with: 1. Poor and inconsistent syncing behavior, resulting in having to restart the app several times a day. 2. Strange bugs in the chart UI that make lines disappear, or connect the wrong set of dots. 3. I can only sync when I’m within 20 feet of my plugged-in light station - so no data when out and about. (Direct to iPhone sync is supposed to be coming, I hear?) 4. Battery life estimation is way off - I thought I had plenty, turned on Live Mode and it suddenly flipped off and needed a charge. Despite all of that, it was 100% worth the two years of wait. I literally wouldn’t have this data otherwise, and as I’ve learned - it’s absolutely critical to my well-being. Thanks y’all for working so hard on this project. I know this device is the first of its kind, which makes pulling this off all the more difficult. I’m really impressed.

It’s been so amazing to see my flow vs my symptoms. I feel validated and it’s great to be able to track so many things in one app! I love the symptoms tracker with SO many options! Thanks Lumia!
