User Reviews

Users largely praise Pileometer for turning bulky LEGO collections into an organized inventory and for a reliable scanner that aids build planning. However, recurring issues include crashes during scans, an incomplete catalog with missing/newer parts, misidentifications by the AI, and a restrictive free cap/subscription model. Many want broader brick coverage, better accuracy, and ongoing updates to improve reliability, speed, and feature set.
Pros
  • Excellent for sorting and inventorying large LEGO collections, turning chaos into an organized catalog
  • Scanner works well and speeds up the process of cataloging bricks
  • Offers build ideas and design inspiration directly in the app
  • Very promising concept that users repeatedly praise as highly useful and capable
Cons
  • Frequent crashes during scanning, disrupting workflow
  • Incomplete catalog with many newer parts missing or misidentified
  • AI recognition not always accurate and can mislabel pieces
  • Free usage cap or abrupt subscription changes limiting access
  • Time-consuming process to scan and input thousands of bricks

For some reason when I chose digitize my collection now it is stuck in there and api can’t use the other features except the builds. Almost 4 just needs to have that bug fixed.

One of the best apps I’ve ever found, truly helpful to finally get all my bricks sorted, very convenient

Really cool way to figure out what can be done with bulk legos. Little tedious to do, but, will pay off with build suggestions. I would like to see a way to request “unidentifiable” bricks to be added to the catalog. Allow users to provide several images or a detail “scan” of these unidentifiable bricks, then use those to add to the catalog. Im finding that lego items from technic or aimed towards smaller kids with more custom shapes have more missing elements.
