Features & Capabilities

See what your baby sees!

BabySee allows you to see the world through your baby's eyes.

"What does my baby see?" "Can she see my face?" "Can he tell if I am smiling?" "What about colors?" As it happens, scientists have devoted years learning about how the eye and brain develop and conducted hundreds of studies learning how babies discern clarity, color, and contrast. Rebion® and Boston Children’s Hospital's Chief of Ophthalmology, David G. Hunter, MD, PhD, have worked with a scientific and engineering team to create the BabySee® infant vision simulator to bring the science of visual development in infants to life in real time.

BabySee has the following functions: -Create baby profiles with name and date-of-birth -Real-time video image simulates visual clarity, color, and contrast at your child's given age -Compare adult vision to baby vision -Save vision simulator photos to your phone -Import existing photos from your phone into the vision simulator -EyeQ® library that provides educational material on your child’s eye health -Follow the scientific articles to learn more about how infant vision develops and is tested

User Reviews

BabySee is praised for its fun, educational window into a baby’s vision and its usefulness for parents and professionals, plus easy sharing of progress. However, users report recurring reliability problems—crashes, freezes, and age-tracking stalls—and device-specific errors on certain iPhone models, which can hinder consistent use. Overall, it’s a creative, informative tool with strong value, tempered by notable performance and compatibility issues.
Pros
  • Fun and insightful way to see what my baby can see.
  • Educational content about infant vision, with useful EyeQ information.
  • Valuable for both parents and eye-care professionals to understand vision development.
  • Easy to share photos with family and document progress.
  • Uses the phone camera to simulate how a baby sees, a unique feature.
Cons
  • Crashes or freezes during use (including the first-photo crash).
  • Age-tracking progress stops updating as the baby grows (slider/age not advancing).
  • Device compatibility errors on certain iPhones/OS versions (e.g., iPhone X and older devices).

A fun app to know what my baby is able to see!

Recent update needs fixing. It completely erased my babylist, so I had re-create it. Also, there's a red notification on the app thumbnail that won't go away and I've checked everything in the app. My OCD hates seeing the red notification bubble anywhere on my phone and I'm contemplating deleting the app since I can't clear it.

The app is good, but please fix the vision filters. These are the filters you have in the app: -4 weeks old and below -5 weeks old to 3 months old -4 months old -5 months old -6 months old -7 months old -8 months old -9 months old -10 months old -11 months to 1 year -2 years to 3+ years But it’s supposed to be this: -Newborn -1day -2days -3days -4days -5days -6days -1week -2weeks -3weeks -4weeks -5weeks -6weeks -7weeks -8weeks -9weeks -10weeks -11weeks -12weeks -3months -4months -5months -6months -7months -8months -9months -10months -11months -1year -2years -3years and up Please fix that. Also, the first photo makes the app crash. You can take photos after then. Besides that, it’s great!
