Ohio’s new app to allow businesses to read Ohio Mobile IDs in Apple Wallet and validate a customer’s age over 21.

Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles OH Mobile ID Check app can be used to read an ISO 18013-5 compliant Mobile Driver’s License or State ID to verify a user is over 21 years old, at locations where age verification is required. This app will work with any ISO 18013-5 compliant Mobile Driver’s License or ID Card.

This app does not store any information on the IDs that are validated, and the data is not accessible to the State of Ohio.

Working in a quasi cinema/bar setting, this app has been amazing. Since we do not take photos of ID’s as proof of age, this app when used in conjunction with Ohio’s digital ID works great It shows you whether or not the patron is over or under 21.
