About our company:

The iDryfire® laser target system is brought to you by the developers of iMarksman® Virtual Target Systems, premier training tools for Marksmanship and Use of Force simulation. The iDryfire® Laser Target System is the new, safe, and convenient way to practice with your own firearms before stepping foot on a live-fire shooting range.

Our clients: Federal Air Marshals PTU FBI Academy United States Army Army of Spain Police and security companies around the world.

How does it work?

Always ensure you are starting with a safe, clear and empty firearm.

Choose any paper target or object. For best performance use a background with no glare Point your Smart Devices camera at the target from a short distance of 3 – 7 yards (additional accessories available on our website to increase the functional distance up to 20 yards).

We recommend you use a tripod with your iPhone/iPad. As a Dry fire device, you can use any dry fire barrel laser inserts or cartridges designed for firearms or laser simulator, including training handguns or Rifles (www.iDryfire.com)

Recommended exercises:

  • Drawing from the holster -> present the firearm -> dry fire -> re-holster
  • Drawing from the holster -> present the firearm -> reload -> dry fire -> re-holster.

More information:

  • Recommended background: Matte surface on a lighted painted wall
  • Avoid shiny subjects in the background or direct light on the target or camera

This is a nice, basic dryfire tool. However, when using a SIRT’s take-up laser, it counts it as a shot. I’m not surprised but it kind of negates the purpose of using that function of the SIRT while using this app. That is, unless I’m missing some sort of setting that I don’t know about 🤷🏼‍♂️

Stuck five black dots on an off-white, eggshell wall with normal interior lighting. Worked brilliantly from the getgo. Had the camera about six feet away from the target (on a counter a couple feet to the right), hit Start, walked to the other end of the hall (~30 feet) and fired away. Super Cool. No idea what the bad reviews are about. And this is using an old iPhone SE, hardly state of the art. We’ll see how it translates to the range but this is pretty fun. Lasers are cool and a LOT less expensive than rounds at the moment. Just gotta git me one of them 200w laser bazookas. ;-) The app is well worth the money. Feature request: let the user define the center of the target and how far away other parts of the target are (in my case four dots up/down/R/L from center dot). Would let the app do basic shot analysis... eg how many shots were x inches away, do you consistently pull your first shot, etc Also, have different colors for each shot. Make it easier to see at a glance where your first, 2nd, 3rd, etc shot placed.
