Check Menus for Food Allergies
Now with menu scan: point your camera at a restaurant menu and get an allergen read for every dish, checked against your exact profile.
Hand any restaurant menu to Clearplate and get an instant, allergen-by-allergen read in seconds. Built for the 33 million Americans with food allergies, and the parents, partners, and friends who keep them safe.
Clearplate reads any menu the way an allergist would, ingredient by ingredient. Type a dish or scan a menu, and Clearplate checks it against your exact allergen profile before you order.
Works on any menu, even ones nobody has reviewed.
Crowdsourced apps tell you about restaurants other diners have already vetted. Clearplate reads any menu, anywhere. The new spot down the street. The birthday party at a place you've never been. The airport food court before a long flight.
An answer in seconds, not phone calls to the kitchen.
You're at the table. The server is waiting. Type the dish, get the read. Speed at the table is the point.
Personalized to your allergens, not generic labels.
A "gluten-free" label on a menu won't tell you about your sesame allergy. Tell Clearplate exactly what to watch for, whether that's your own allergens or someone else's, and every dish gets checked against that list, ingredient by ingredient.
Clearplate reads against the Top 9 allergens: peanut, tree nut, milk, egg, soy, wheat, fish, shellfish, and sesame.
What Clearplate is not.
Clearplate is a check, not a replacement for asking the food preparer. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose, and does not guarantee that any food is safe. Predicted ingredients can vary by restaurant, so always confirm with your server before ordering. If you're managing a serious food allergy, work with a board-certified allergist.
A note from the founder.
I built Clearplate because I live with food allergies, and the moment of handing the menu back without a real answer never got easier. I wanted a second pair of eyes I could trust at any restaurant, not only the ones someone else had already vetted. Clearplate is what I built for myself, my family, and anyone navigating the same questions.
